Homesteading: DIY Honey & Lavender Bath melts

Handmade gifts from the heart! There is no price you can put on them! They bring joy to both the maker and the receiver….and they are gifts that keep on giving.

If you are lucky to be close to a neighbour that keeps Bees, you can get an ample supply of beeswax, if not – you can always buy beeswax or Paraffin wax. I prefer beeswax as it’s natural.

These gorgeous bath melts are so easy to put together and they make gorgeous gifts. They are luxurious and soothing. Hold under hot running water in your bath. Slip into your bath and indulge!

Bath Melts

Beeswax – 75g (You can also use Paraffin wax)

Method:

Gently melt the beeswax, cocoa butter and coconut oil in a Pyrex jug. Melt in short 1 minute bursts in the microwave.

Make sure the wax does not burn. Once the wax has melted, add the Shea butter and melt further.

Add your fragrance of choice.

Lay the silicon molds on a tray. Add in a few Lavender flowers in each mold cavity.

Pour the melted and scented oils into the molds.

Leave to set and harden. Place them in pretty gauze sachets or wrap in parchment paper.
